Count the stairs, measure narrow doors and note any turns between the basement and the exit. A large item may fit the basement but not the stairwell.
Separate stored items
List furniture, boxes and loose household items. Keep documents, valuables, medicine and anything that stays in a clearly marked area.
Look for access limits
Keep electrical panels and mechanical equipment clear. Mention low ceilings, water damage or unusually heavy items before planning removal.
Checklist
Item count; stair and doorway measurements; carrying distance; keep items; access to utilities; materials needing separate review.
For a job-specific discussion, review the basement junk removal service guide and the estimate checklist.
